Pedestal Table (inlayed)

  • For this pedestal style table we source character-rich oak, often from trees that have grown wild or in less controlled environments, where they’ve had the space to develop knots, crotches, and dramatic grain patterns. These features aren’t flaws—they are the fingerprints of a tree’s history, making each table completely unique.

Knots however, are often not suitable for the surface of a dining table top and instead of using epoxy to fill them, oak inlays have been used. These inlays are a testament to the craftsmanship behind the piece—each one meticulously placed by hand, adding depth, precision, and a contemporary elegance. The result is a table that balances nature’s raw character with refined artistry, making it a striking centrepiece for any space.

The underside of the top is kept straight with a stretcher that attaches to the top using a tapered sliding dovetail. This is one of the strongest mechanical joints in woodworking and further testament to the craftsmanship at hand.
