Trestle Table

  • A collapsable piece of furniture, allowing the owner to move it to different rooms or outside in the nice weather.

The table-top sits on two trestles. The top is breadboard end in design and made using characterful oak boards with “wabi-sabi” bowties and inlays made from various species of hardwood off-cuts. These stabilise and repair the natural defects of the timber.

The light-weight top is also kept rigid through the use of tapered sliding dovetail supports that run laterally underneath which prevent the top from twisting. Sipo breadboard
ends also assist in maintaining the shape of the table for many generations to come.

The trestles are made from live-edge oak with hand turned legs and mahogany stretchers. Raised platforms are lined with cork and inlayed into the top to create a grippy surface for the table-top to sit on.

All components are finished with a natural wax oil.

  • Length: 190cm
    Width: 85cm
    Height: 73cm

  • Approximately 8-10 weeks.

  • Can be made in any timber, with or without contrasting breadboard ends.
